  • Do you make custom fit orders?
    We sure do! We cannot guarantee that we have what you need available and in stock for a custom order but it never hurts to ask! We have made XXS, XL and XXL bandanas and accessories. Navigate to our Contact Page and ask away. Be sure to include your dogs breed, weight, neck circumference and your desired size so we can best assist you without additional delays!   • Are you currently looking for any new ambassadors?
    Thank you for your desire to be a part of our small ambassador team! We typically run our ambassador searches 3x/year. When our application is open, you can apply for a chance to JOIN THE PACK here. Be on the lookout on our social media account @butfirstwest for notifications on the search!   • How do I subscribe to e-mail updates?
    Navigate to the bottom left hand corner of any page on our website to find our "Subscribe" form. Enter your first name, last name and best e-mail address, hit "subscribe" and voila! You will get a confirmation email confirming that you have subscribed to our newsletter!
  • Do you have gift wrapping options?
    We have multiple tiers of gift wrapping options available for purchase! These options range from (a) Standard gift wrapping in recyclable, natural non-dyed butchers paper (b) Custom reusable gift tags personalized with any name and (C) A 5" x 7" canvas bag! Add gift wrapping to your order at checkout and select the customization that is right for you!
  • Do you offer Returns and Exchanges?
    Check out our returns page to submit a return request form HERE. Not in love? Items must be in their original state: Unwashed, unworn, unaltered. Returns that are damaged or soiled or not in our original state will not be accepted and will not be returned to the customer. It is upon the discretion of But First, West if a return will be accepted or not based on the condition it is returned to the maker. The customer is responsible for shipment and arrival of the return package to But First, West. At this time, But First, West is only offering a return shipping and handling label provided directly from our shop with an approved Return Request. For all domestic return orders, a non-refundable flat shipping rate of $10 USD will be taken out of the return refund. Please note that the shipping charges from But First, West to the customer paid for at the time of order are non-refundable. If the products to be returned exceed a S/H rate greater than $10 USD, the customer is responsible for the total amount of the S/H label which will be deducted from the total refund. Returns are being processed within 14 business days of arriving back to us! Please ensure that your But First, West piece is packed in a way that will protect it for the return journey. You have 10 business days to initiate a return from the date an order is delivered, regardless of where you are in the world. If the package does not track with viable shipping that is in transit back to the shop within 15 business days of the packages original shipping date (continues to show as "Pre transit), this is not the responsibility of But First, West and will not result in a refund of any kind. Returns that are not sent back within the 15 business days window will not be accepted. Unfortunately, we do not offer returns on any collaboration items, custom design piece, any item from our Second's Shop or bulk wholesale orders and these are final purchase. We do not offer exchanges or alterations without prior approval directly from But First, West and may be subject to a customization fee. All Sale items are final sale and not eligible for return. At this time, But First, West does not offer exchanges. Items eligible for return can be processed for store credit as defined above.
  • Can we shop But First, West products in any store fronts?
    Currently we do not have a Brick + Mortar, nor do any physical shops currently carry our products. All our products are handmade and shipped directly from our little studio in Los Angeles, CA.
  • What are the different styles of accessory attachments offered?
    Currently, our accessories are made to attach directly to your pups collar or to their hair! We offer two different attachments styles on our Bowties, Sailor Bows, Classic Hair Bows and Knotted Hair Bows: 1) Velcro loop. A Velcro loop is sewn onto the back of either a Bow Tie or Sailor Bow to attach around a collar. The Velcro is cut in 4.5" strips, making it easy to fit around collars that are 2" height or less. If you have a large pup that wears very thick collars, just let us know at checkout you need a slightly longer loop length to ensure your accessory stays intact! *If you'd like a little extra security on your accessory, be sure to place the "Add on: Velcro loops" listing into your chart! This will give you two extra elastic loops on each side of the velcro attachment to loop your collar through! 2) Alligator clip. A matte black alligator clip will be attached to the back of a Classic Hair Bow, Knotted Hair bow or Sailor Bow (If you'd like to attach it to the top of your pups head or the tops of their ears). These are meant for dogs with long hair and typically do not work with short hair dog breeds. These clips are not sewn or glued on so can be removed if you'd like to wash the accessory. 3) Special order request: Nylon headband loop. These are meant for dogs with short hair and will attached to the back of a Classic Hair Bow, Knotted Hair bow or Sailor Bow (If you'd like to attach it to the top of your pups head).   • How do I care for my bandana or accessory?
    Our products are made from a variety of different materials including Wool, linen, canvas, cotton and sweater knit. If you are unsure of the fabric the product is made from, it is always safe to spot clean your bandanas or accessories with a damp cloth. Aside from wool or linen, most of our fabrics can be machine wash cold on delicate, tumble dry low or air dry to prevent any shrinking of the fabric. For some of our woven fabrics, you may want to place in a garment bag to prevent any snags from occurring. Please note washing the item will cause natural wear to the leather tag. Do not use bleach. Do not iron the leather tag. *Disclaimer: If you decide to purchase a custom iron on transfer with your bandana, washing can cause it to become worn over time and degrade in quality. To preserve the print of the iron on transfer, wash infrequently. Do not iron over the transfer, do not dry clean. Remove any metal or alligator clips from any hair bow accessories before washing.
  • How do I care for my Classy Mother Pupper Leather Tag?
    To clean, wipe with a damp cloth. Leather and brass will patina with time and exposure to the elements. Prolong the life of the leather and hardware by keeping it away from water & chemicals. Condition leather as needed with a wax/silicone-free leather conditioner. Due to the nature of natural leather, small imperfections may occur.
  • Do you accept rush orders?
    Typically, our studio tries our best to get our orders out by 10 business days, however, because we are just a small little shop, it can take up to 15 business days. Do you plan on selecting next day or same day postal carrier options at check out but need a guaranteed rapid processing time from us here in the studio? We will always do our best to meet your pawty planning needs if we can swing it! Please use the Contact Page to send us a request and we will get back to you ASAP. Please note there may be additional rush order processing fees (Between $5.00 - $20.00 pending your order size) associated with quick turn around times.   • How long will it take for me to get my order?
    Our shop's processing time varies pending the season, the item and the quantity ordered. We do our best to ensure our shop's processing time is under 10-14 business days. Be sure to check out with the best shipping method that will ensure you get your product in the timeframe desired. Need a rush delivery? Visit our Contact Us page and request a rapid turnaround for an additional fee.
  • How do I check the status of my order?
    Sign into your account page and check in on your orders! Keep in mind, we do our best to ensure your items ship from our studio within 10-14 business days. When your items ship from the But First, West Studio, you will get an email updating you on your tracking information!
  • Do you accept Wholesale Orders?
    We love building relationships with partnering brands and ethical breeders. Visit our Wholesale Page to learn more about how our Ala Carte wholesale ordering works and if we are the right fit for each other, put in a wholesale request with us!   • Do you ship internationally?
